Unlock the full potential of backbends in this workshop designed to help you move beyond the physical posture and into a deeper understanding of their benefits. More than just flexibility, backbends cultivate strength, resilience, and energetic openness, offering both physical and emotional release. In this workshop, we’ll explore key backbending postures, including Ustrasana (Camel Pose), Urdhva Dhanurasana (Upward Facing Bow), and Drop Backs, breaking down their mechanics to help you approach them with confidence and control. To prepare your body for deeper backbends, we’ll include a sequence of warm-up postures, we'll use props and wall, targeting the shoulders, spine, core, hips, and legs. This will help you build stability, mobility, and awareness, ensuring a safe and effective practice. You will: ✨ Learn how backbends enhance spinal health, posture, and energy flow ✨ Develop strength and flexibility to support deeper, more effortless movement ✨ Explore modifications and techniques to refine your practice at any level ✨ Cultivate breath awareness to create stability and ease in your backbends With mindful guidance in a safe and supportive space, you'll have the opportunity to expand your practice with confidence, intention, and awareness. Juliana is a highly experienced yoga teacher with a deep passion for backbends, spinal health, and heart-opening practices. With many years of teaching experience, she'll bring a wealth of knowledge to help students safely deepen their practice. Juliana started a deeper practice of yoga when she moved to India in 2010. It was there that she started practicing very alignment oriented yoga, doing her first Yoga Teacher Training in 2013. In 2017 she did her second Yoga Teacher Training in Ann Arbor, and today her teaching style is supportive, precise, and empowering, offering personalized guidance to ensure each student builds confidence and stability in their backbends. Whether you’re new to backbends or looking to refine your technique, Juliana will create a safe and encouraging space to explore, challenge, and expand your practice.
